Implementation of Equitable and Sustainable TOD Request for Proposals – Due October 30
GCC is pleased to release our Implementation of Equitable and Sustainable Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Request for Proposals (RFP), due October 30, 2014.
GCC has shaped 34 of the region’s station area plans; helped craft Plan Bay Area, the most progressive Sustainable Communities Strategy in the state; incubated the Bay Area Transit-Oriented Affordable Housing Fund (TOAH); and built a strong network of local and regional TOD advocates. GCC is expanding our scope to include facilitating the implementation of equitable and sustainable TOD.
The goal of this work is to build out TOD across the Bay Area – higher density mixed-income housing, quality jobs, locally serving retail and services, and improved parks, streets, sidewalks, and open spaces. This support aims to condition the environment for equitable development and spur catalytic projects, which can include: public or private investment and new policy frameworks or funding mechanisms.
The implementation RFP is limited to 4 cities: Oakland, San Jose, Concord and Fremont. Please see the RFP for more details on eligible geographies, activities, applicant teams, and the application process: Implementation of Equitable and Sustainable Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) RFP.
